A very common, usually harmless, condition in which the skin develops dark spots that can cause dark spots on the skin. This happens due to the excessive production of a pigment called melanin.
Normally, skin gets its color from a pigment known as melanin. This is the pigment that gives color to the skin. Sometimes, due to some diseases or complications, the skin cells start to produce too much melanin, which leads to darkening of the skin. Darkening of the skin usually appears as small, very dark spots or sores on very different parts of the body.
The three common types of hyperpigmentation include age spots, melasma, and post-inflammatory trauma. Post-inflammatory trauma can result from an injury, sun exposure, or a skin condition such as bacerial or fungal acne.
An experienced doctor, after examining the condition, can prescribe some therapy treatments, which can include IPL peeling, laser therapy, chemical peeling, etc.
